He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Stacey Jones Yates of Collins; his mother Ruby Walker Yates Walters; his stepfather Reverend Ken Walters; his sons, Marshall Hugh Yates, Jr. (Kathryn) of Petal and Cody Dewayne Yates (Leta) of Mount Olive; his stepsons, Joseph Gillian of Laurel and Levi Gillian of Laurel; and his siblings, Frankie L. Yates (Claire) of Raceland, LA and Merry Katherine Hebert (Wayne) of Collins. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
