He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Smith and Mamie Dell Callender Smith; and his siblings, David Smith, Roger Smith, Carl Andrew Smith, Dale Smith, Mercedes Smith Dunaway and Viola Rae Smith Reeves.
He is survived by: his wife Johnnie "Kay" Bates Smith of Collins; and his sister Janice Falvey.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Billy M. King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home (3202 US 49, Collins, MS 39428). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 11:45 AM at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.
