It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lela Voncille Lovette Walters of Collins, Mississippi, born in Lucedale, Mississippi, who passed away on December 3, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Jackson Lovette (Cleve) and Elma Bullock Lovette; her husband Heyward Walters; her siblings, Frank Lovette and Faye Baughman; her siblings-in-law, Carolyn Lovette and Charles Gates; and her nephews, Heath Hardin, Kimble Baughman, Johnny Baughman and James Lovette.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol Rankin (David) of Seminary, Gail Humphreys (John) of Commerce and Deanna Atwood (Carroll) of Seminary; her siblings, Lavine Hardin of Birmingham, Ella Wease Gates of Petal, Mississippi and Pat Lovette (Betty) of Seminary; and her grandchildren, Ashley Ward (David) of Austin, Tessa Roberts (Michael) of Collins, Daniel Rankin (April) of Collins, Andrew Rankin of Austin and Toby Denham (Brandon) of Sumrall. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends.
