He was predeceased by: his parents, Hulon Cranford and Velna King Cranford; his stepdaughter Paula Mooney; and his siblings, Ted Ervin Cranford and Jeanne Cranford Duckworth.
He is survived by: his wife Elise Williamson Cranford of Collins; his children, Billy Hugh Cranford Jr. (Tammy) of Collins, Terry Thames of Seminary, Glenda Archer (Bill) of Germantown and Darnell Hinton of Oak Grove; his stepchildren, Doris Jane Bishop of Collins, Micki Yates (Danny) of Seminary and Robert Mooney of Jackson; his grandchildren, Anthony Thames, Brittney Thames Hicks (Brandon), Hannah Archer, Ashley Cranford Findley (Matt), Billy H. "B. J." Cranford, III, Anna Jones (Justin) and Joshua Hinton (Rachael); his great grandchildren, Blair Hicks, Brantley Hicks, Henry Tingstrom, Wesley Findley, Addison Findley and Cameron Morris; his stepgrandchildren, Jade Graham (Sammy), Cody Hynum, Hailey Yates, Sadie Bishop, Bo Magee, Clay Magee and John Fleet Morris (Amber); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cole Pope, Slade Pope, Reed Russell, Jordan Russell, Kloe Hynum, Bentlee Hynum, Aubrey Fairley, Logan Magee, Malachi Magee, Raeleigh Davenport, Presley Davenport and Kallie Morris. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home (3202 US 49, Collins, MS 39428). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Collins City Cemetery.
