He is survived by: his wife Lena Leotta Carpenter of Coldwater, MS; his children, Brenda Kay Bowman of Harrison, AR, Harold W. Carpenter, Jr. (Erica) of Olive Branch, MS and Allen Carpenter (Christal) of Coldwater, MS; his brothers, William Jefferson Carpenter (Carolyn) of Cordova, TN and Jerry Lee Carpenter of Portland, ME; and his grandchildren, Jerry Bowman, Jr., Amanda Carpenter, Ashley Carpenter, Emily Lyles, Kristopher Carpenter and Addison Borden.
