He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Smith; his daughters, Sharon Rangel, Tena McDowell (Daniel) and Inez Witcher; his mother Inez Owen; his siblings, Melissa Thomas (Kevin), Theresa Hunter (Eric), Gary Owens and Ronnie Smith; his grandchildren, Keith Rangel, Kevin Rangel, Kristopher Witcher, Kasey McDowell, Lillian Sykes, Keri McDowell and Kyleigh Waldrop; and his great grandchild Sophia Rangel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VA Hospital.
