He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna DeMerritt and John Parker DeMerritt; and his siblings, Patty, Donald and James DeMerritt.
He is survived by: his wife Janice DeMerritt of Coldwater, MS; his children, Dana DeMerritt of Chicago, IL, Cynthia Schettino (James) of Fayetteville, GA, Tina Copeland (Steven) of Orangeville, UT, Tammy May (Danny) of Weiser, ID, Scott DeMerritt (Catherine) of Burlington, VT and Mark DeMerritt of Antioch, IL; and his sisters, Joann Gatley of San Clemente, CA and Marti Duy (John). He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
