He was predeceased by: his parents, Fate Hayes and Kathleen Denley Hayes; his wife Janet Mae Hayes; and his son Gary Fate Hayes Westmoreland. He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Everette (Tommy) of Greenwood, MS, Judy Hayes Brown of Black Hawk, MS and Shelby Fate Hayes (Kim Clark) of Greenwood, MS; and his stepchildren, Dean Woodard (Libby) of Greenwood, MS, Nancy White of Forrest, MS and Sylvia Wells of Byhalia, MS. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
