He was predeceased by: his parents, Ermine Ray, Sr. and Deryl Willingham Schmitz; and his son-in-law William Pilcher, Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Angela Dorris (Dennis) of Water Valley, Ingrid Holloway (Kyley) of Grenada and Ray Schmitz, III (Lori) of Coffeeville; his stepdaughter Shanna Taylor (Rob) of Brooklyn, AR; his sister Trudy Simmons of Tillatoba; his grandchildren, Whitney Massey (BJ), Will Pilcher, Jr., Paisley Waldo, Walker Waldo, Annabelle Yelverton, Hydi Rose Holloway, Aiden Yelverton, Alivia Yelverton, Kai Holloway Ray Schmitz, IV, Sarah Grace Taylor and Austin Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Dawson Waldo and Brianna Massey.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church – Coffeeville (14749 Depot St, Coffeeville, MS 38922). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (14749 Depot St, Coffeeville, MS 38922).
