He was predeceased by: his spouse Johnnie Hays Boyd; his parents, Robert Jasper Boyd and Laura Kimbrough Boyd; and his granddaughter Felicia McGriff Estridge. He is survived by: his siblings, Papaw, Laura Mae Ball (Herbert) and Libby Pierce Rowell (James "Jim"); his daughters, Sharon McGriff (Gary), Laura White (William), Sandra Clay (Paul), Pam Meadows (Ed) and Dorothy Williams (Mark); and his grandchildren, Dave McGriff, Christy McGriff Hildersheim, Laura Marie Campbell, Naomi Meadows Mathes, Ben Meadows, Miah Williams Ramos, Ross Clay and Alec Williams. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
