It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melvin Selby Parker Sr. of Clinton, Mississippi, born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, who passed away on March 2, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin J. Parker and Sadie Parker; and his former wife Ruby Fay Lyons Parker. He is survived by: his sister Barbara Ramsay; his spouse Dr. Selby Parker, Sr.; his children, Leigh Kelly, Leslie Hydro, Lisa Parker and Selby Parker, Jr.; and his children-in-law, Amanda Parker and Andy Hydro. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Sadly, due to COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will not be held, but we ask those who wish to honor him to listen to his favorite ballad "Danny Boy" and to read his favorite poem "Crossing the Bar" written by Alfred Lord Tennyson.
