It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Shields (Clinton, Mississippi), born in Oakland, Mississippi, who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiram Shields and Gracie Shields; and his siblings, Eddie Shields, Thelma Shoulders, Deloris Bell and Cloatee Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah A. Shields; and his children, Dennis Robinson (Tokama) of Dallas, TX, Martin Shields (Denise) of Clinton, MS, Cheryl Shields of Denver, CO, Bridgette Shields, Patricia Shields Fly (Calvin), Gwendolyn Shields Parker (Bryan) of Jackson, MS and Shamona Shields (Justin) of Pearl, MS. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 39 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
