He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Edward Simpson and Cora Lynne McNulty Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Story Simpson; his children, Chuck Simpson (Angela) of Tallahassee, Fla., Kathy Baker (Dan) of Jackson, Miss., Mark Simpson (Robin) of Clinton, Miss. and Martha Parish (Jeff) of Madeira Beach, FL; his sister Sherry Ray of Germantown, Tenn.; and his grandchildren, Edward, Parker, Molly Simpson, Morgan, Beth, Olivia, Eleanor Baker, Anna Burch (Simpson), Katherine Brent (Simpson), Caroline Simpson, Sarah Robbins (Parish), Dorothy, Christopher and Carey Parish. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
