He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Gilbert and Clara Mae Clayton Norton; his spouse Lera Nell; his sisters, Rathanell Collins, Earlene Smith and Christine Witcher; and his daughter-in-law Terri Norton.
He is survived by: his sons, Chet Norton of Cleveland, MS and Mark Norton (Kyle) of Barlett, TN; his grandchildren, Brandi, Lauren, Carrie and Allen; and his great grandchildren, Brett, Jace, Grace, Jane and Erin.
