She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Carl Grady Nichols, Jr. and Mary Jane Myers Nichols; and her husband Dennis Rule Burke, Jr. of Ruleville. She is survived by: her children, Dudley Burke Couey of Greenville and Dennis Rule Burke, III (Emily) of Hernando; her siblings, Martha N. Oseman of Memphis, TN, Lottie Mae N. Dawkins (Jim) of Greenville and Carl G. Nichols, III of Memphis; her grandchildren, Garren Couey, Kirkland Couey, Jack Burke and David Campbell Burke; her uncle Malcolm S. Nichols of San Diego, CA; and her brother-in-law Dr. Pat Burke (Meg) of Clarksdale. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
