He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Dewey and Viola Beulah Phelps Joel; and his son Jimmy Joel. He is survived by: his wife Margaret J. Robertson; and his children, Lewis Michel Joel of Inverness, MS and Margaret Ann Moore of Cleveland. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
