He is survived by: his wife Elouise Yeats; his sons, Gary Stewart Stringer (Carolyn) of Clarksdale and Gregory Ray Stringer (Susan) of Divide; his grandchildren, John Stewart Stringer of Jackson and Kristen Stringer Webb (Craig) of Nashville; and his nieces, Ginger Howard Sick (Cecil) of Houston and Janette Howard Plemmons of Houston, Texas..

Memorials may be made to Clarksdale Care Station or a charity of the donor's choice.
