She was predeceased by: her parents, William Andrew and Sarah Ella Smith; and her husband George W. Spence. She is survived by: her siblings, Ross, Dee, Jim, Drew and Janiece; her daughter Joan Morris of Clarksdale, MS; her son-in-law Michael Morris of Clarksdale, MS; her grandchildren, Todd Morris (Robin) of Jackson, MS and Natalie Rula (David) of Birmingham, AL; her great grandchildren, Mary Grace, Addison Morris, Sarah Morris, Holland Rula of Birmingham, AL and Larson Rula of Birmingham, AL; her sister Marlene Lee of Walker, LA; her husband Janiece Cox of Baton Rouge, LA; her sister-in-law Mavis Smith of Rogers, AR; and also Lavern Cox of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Clarksdale, MS, St. Jude, or the Cancer Foundation.
