He was predeceased by: his parents, E. W. Thomas and Lucy Howard Thomas; and his sister Gloria Dunbar. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Winkel Thomas; his sons, Scott Thomas of Moon Lake, MS and Ryan Thomas (Audrey) of Canton, MS; his adoptive daughter Nicole Garrard (Shane) of Brandon, MS; his sisters, Joyce Bennett (Hoss) of Clarksdale, MS, Nancy Cordor of Helena, AR and Jane Stewart (Less) of Tuscon, AR; and his grandchildren, Matt Thomas, John Thomas, Lila Thomas, Beverly Grace Pettey and Kellam Smith.
Due to COVID, family will have a private service at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarksdale, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
