He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jefferson Topper and Irene Utz Topper; his parents-in-law, Estelle and Winerford Hope; his sister Polly Fraize; his siblings-in-law, Sambo Fraize, Sonny Burchfield, Sonny Hope and Mary Bell Topper; and his son-in-law Arthur Liles, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Helen Hope Topper of Clarksdale, MS; his children, Lisa Liles of Clarksdale, MS, Sandra Tomlinson (James) of Clarksdale, MS, Donald Topper of Merigold, MS and Cary Topper of Clarksdale, MS; his granddaughters, Kori Elliott (Kevin) of Clarksdale, MS and Michelle Havens (Ethan) of Clarksdale, MS; his great grandchildren, Trae Pitts of Clarksdale, MS., Dale Pitts of Clarksdale, MS., Anna Claire Havens of Clarksdale, MS. and Carter Havens of Clarksdale, MS.; his siblings, Virginia Burchfield, Charlie Topper and Bob Topper (Barbara); and his sisters-in-law, Carol Wright (Theo) and Laura Hope. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
