He is survived by: his wife Nancy Carole Crawford Rutledge; his daughter Melissa Rutledge Smith (Robert) of Long Valley, NJ; and his siblings, Donald Rutledge of Gulfport, MS and Norma Jean White (Billy) of Jackson, MS..

“David, and his friendship and warmth came at a critical in my life, during a time of wandering. I and my family walked into Calvary Tabernacle where David and Nancy were members. They were the first folks to greet us, introduce us to others and just love on us at a time when we needed healing from church hurt. When David took us to lunch, his stories were funny and engaging. He believed in straight talk. He loved the Lord with all his heart. I thank God for sending him into our lives. We love you Nancy and are praying for your strength and peace.
