She was predeceased by: her parents, Van G. Meek, Sr. and Kate McNeely Meek; and her siblings, Jo-Ann Corviss, Van G. Meek, Joyce Willis and Shirley Hawes.
She is survived by: her husband Tommy; her children, Meg Murphey (Ken) and Jay Hatchett; and her granddaughter Kate Murphey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests donations be made to the Clarksdale-Coahoma County Animal Shelter, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or charity of the donor's choice.
