He was predeceased by: his parents, G. W. Culpepper and Effie Culpepper; his wife Betty J. Culpepper; his daughter Ashley Channing Culpepper; and his siblings, Bobby Culpepper and Hazel Sellers.
He is survived by: his son Russell Culpepper (Toni); his grandchildren, Tyler Culpepper, Madison Culpepper, Sophia Culpepper and Paxton Myers; and his siblings, Darryl Culpepper (Judy), Ronnie Culpepper (Carolyn), Mary Palmer and Connie Farrar.
