He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Flynn and Frankie Champion Hargett; his daughter Kim Newton; and his siblings, Earline Powell, Maxine Serio and Claude Hargett.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hargett of Charleston, MS; his sons, Wayne Hargett (Teresa) of Charleston, MS and Michael Hargett (Michelle) of Grenada, MS; and his siblings, Charlotte Richards (Bob) of Charleston, MS, Peggy Vance of Tutwiler, MS, David Hargett (Carol) of Charleston, MS, Steve Hargett Tupelo (Donna) and Eddie Hargett (Charlotte) of Charleston, MS.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
