He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Lawson and Myrtle Cummings Melton; and his siblings, Tina Melton Taylor, Maybelle Melton Kerr, Sherry Melton Joslin, James, Frank, Howard "Bully", Dillard and Paul Melton.
He is survived by: his wife Gussie Yeoman Melton of Charleston, MS; his children, Bobby Bill Melton Jr. (Dana) of Enid, MS, Charlotte Melton Brown of Hernando, MS, Tony Baxter Melton of Grenada, MS, Bobbi Michelle "Shelly" Louwerens (Shane), Billy Ingram Cross and Belinda Cross Allison (Jon); and his sisters, Maudine Melton McNeer of Carrolton, MS, Jean Melton Clark of Germantown, TN and Darlene Melton Moorman of Tillatoba, MS. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
