He was predeceased by: his parents, James Allen and Nettie McCammon Gentry; his brother Thomas Gentry; his half-brother Hayden Gentry; and his sister Lorrena Florio.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Aven Gentry of Cowart; his children, Barbara Seymore (Bud), Sharon Seymore (Danny) and Billy Joe Gentry (Stephanie) of Nettleton, MS; and his brother A. C. Gentry of Glendora, MS.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
