It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Ray Champion of Charleston, Mississippi, who passed away on June 17, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Champion and Anthia Agnes Bonds Champion; and his siblings, Edith Ilene Champion, Eugene Victor "Gene" Champion, Charles H. Champion, Geneva Champion Brunson of Earnest Clifton, Owen Perkins Champion, Hazel Champion Beavers and John Powell Champion.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Marter Champion; his daughters, Vicki Champion Fennell (Kelly) and Karen Champion; his grandchildren, Kelsie Tribble (Martin), Karlie Morgan (James), Anna Farmer (Brett), Meagan Cook (Raines), Maggie Noah Rowland (Avery) and Luke Champion Noah (Faith); his great grandchildren, Mary Hiram, Caroline Morgan, Louis, Jane Tribble, Hayes Cook and John Ryker Farmer; and his sisters, Helen Champion Davis (Charles) and Nell Champion Mann.
