It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Mitchell of Charleston, Mississippi, who passed away on March 5, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Mitchell to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband James Skeet Mitchell; her parents, Perry Lane and Lena Lane; her brothers, Kenneth, Don and Joe Lane; her daughter Rose Handley; and her granddaughter Cammy Pigford.

She is survived by: her son Tim Mitchell (Pat); her brother Roger Lane; her grandchildren, Kerri Harrison, Michael, Jamie Montgomery (Chad) and Kristi Byrne (Abe); her great grandchildren, Madison, Cohen, Ashton, Eaden Montgomery, Brody, Brett Harrison, Katie, Addie, Oliver Byrne and Mitchell Pigford; and her grandson-in-law Richard Pigford. She is also survived by nephews and nieces.

The family asks that instead of sending flowers, please make memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital in honor of Betty.
