He is survived by: his wife Carey Minyard Deaton of Carrollton, MS; his children, David Deaton of Irving, TX, Daniel Deaton (Liza) of San Diego, CA, Maegen Summers (Jeff) of Winona, MS and Lori Lee of Greenwood; his stepmother Mae "Pat" Deaton of Grenada, MS; and his siblings, Buddy Deaton of Minter City, MS, Ellen Maynor of Longville, LA and Charlotte Sewell of Avalon, MS. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; one great grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
