He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jean Esslinger; his parents, Andrew David Esslinger and Suella Ivey Esslinger; his daughter Melissa Esslinger; and his siblings, Junior Esslinger, James Esslinger and Ruth Esslinger.
He is survived by: his children, Walt Esslinger (Amy), Steve Esslinger, Janice Douglas (Wayne) and Jennifer Prestridge (Jason); his brother Jay Esslinger; and his grandchildren, Drew Esslinger (Meagan), Cooper Esslinger, Peyton Esslinger, Sara Esslinger, Melissa Brewer (PJ), Lee Cuevas, Cody Cuevas, Dillon Esslinger, Crystal Reid, Lee Whitworth, Allan Rogers and Donnie Rogers. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
