He is survived by: his wife Samantha; his children, Kristen Lockwood (Sean), Kathlyn Williams (Robert), Betsy, Kathleen Balkcom, Andrew Garrett, Benjamin Garrett (Megan) and Richard Balkcom, Jr.; and his sisters, Kathleen Balkcom and Kathy Urban. He is also survived by numerous extended family, friends.
