It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cynthia Lynn Leggett of Carriere, Mississippi, born in Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on June 15, 2021, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Laverne Leggett and Grover Nell Utsey Leggett; her aunt Jean Loper; her cousins, Greg Jordan and Janelle Stutts; her aunts and uncles, Adelle Jordan, Ruby Touchstone, Evon Leggett, Franklin Leggett and James Luther Leggett; and her grandparents, Quentin Leggett, Estelle Windham, Ernest Grover Utsey and Willie Mae Touchstone Utsey.
She is survived by: her brother Steve of Culpeper, VA; her close friends, Lauren and Mallory Cumberland; her aunt Lucy VanDevender of Harrison, AR; her cousin Jim VanDevender of New Orleans, LA; her aunts, Faye Polito, Gaye Ruffin and Carol Blackledge of Citrus Heights, CA; and her cousins, Gina Kay Miller of Citronelle, AL, James Leggett of Clarke County, MS, Mack Leggett of Wayne County, MS, Dewayne Leggett of Citronelle, AL, Angelic Mack, Karen Woodruff, Steven Blackledge, Melanie Meachem, Johnny Touchstone, Anthony Polito, Joseph Polito, Howard Mason and Ronnie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that persons wishing to honor Cindy's life and her love of music and teaching should contribute to a music scholarship fund established in her name at Mississippi State University.
