He was predeceased by: his parents, Hillman Richard and Lucille Robinson Richard; his siblings, JoAnn Richard, MaryAnn Johnson, Frida Murphy and Vernon "Buck" Richard; and his siblings-in-law, Ray Johnson, Carl Murphy and Mary Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Jane S. Richard; his son Carl "P. J."; his grandchildren, Alexis Hawthorne (Colby) of Carl Richard, III, Erlinda Richard, Khloe Osborne, Kaydence, Kyndal Osborne, Kinzlee Osborne, Bentley Richard and Kross Richard; his great grandchildren, Kimberlynn Kennedy and Canton Hawthorne; his siblings, Rodney "Cooney" Richard (Lydia), Dan Richard (Charlene) and Dorene Hebert (Tito); and his brother-in-law Lucien Richard. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
