With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Morris Taylor of Canton, Mississippi, who passed away on January 29, 2021 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Gandy and David C. Taylor; his former wife Lottie Alford Taylor; and his brothers, John, Earnest, Cliff and Bobby.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Fisher Taylor; his children, Jane Lee Taylor Foster (Lantz) and Morris Alford "Mat" Taylor, Jr. (Caryn); his stepchildren, Rebecca Hardy (Ty) and Ben Herring (Sara); his grandchildren, Brittany Sones (Sam), Landon Foster, Jared Foster (Meghan), Zachary Allen Taylor, Jack Thomas Taylor, Anabelle Lee "LeLe" Taylor, Dexton Cole Taylor, James Cullen Hardy II and Campbell Elizabeth Hardy; his great grandchildren, Samuel Gates Sones, Silas James Sones, Lottie Jane Sones and Rosie Love Sones; his sisters, Marie Rigdon and Betty Little (Floyd); his siblings-in-law, Mary Alford Bennett, Ruth Carmen Poindexter (Lewis) and Burke Fisher (Rita); his close friend Morton "Marlo" Tyler; and his pet Maggie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
Everyone attending the graveside service will be asked to follow Covid-19 guidelines, including wearing a mask.
