She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Brister and Lola Mae Rutledge Brister (James Young). She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Shockley, Debora Rodgers, Connie McClanahan, Vicki Ware, Michelle Myers and Kim Watts; and her sisters, Frances Furlow and Jean Stegall. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
