He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Dye and Syble Parker Long Aven. He is survived by: his son Jason Dye (Ann); his siblings, Billie Jean Webb (James) and Marion Long of Big Creek; his stepbrother David Aven (Kathy); his grandchildren, Kyle Dye and Kane Dye; and also, Pittsboro and Oxford.
