He was predeceased by: his parents, John Monroe Rye and Helen Katherine Duncan Rye; his wife Hilda Honeycutt Rye; his daughter Amy Nethery; and his brother Jesse Rye.
He is survived by: his sister Patricia Rye Miller; and his grandchildren, Brooke Nethery, Lauren Nethery and Cheyne Nethery. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lowndes Funeral Home (1131 Lehmberg Rd, Columbus, MS 39702). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
