He was predeceased by: his former wife Eleanor Ann East Ferrell; his parents, W. C. Ferrell and Lessie Hasel Ferrell; his siblings, W. C. "Dub" Ferrell, William Ferrell and Catherine Russell; his son Stephen Ferrell; and his grandson Austin Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Susan, Greg, David, Naomi, Theresa, Gean Claire and Kathleen; his wife Naomi Ferrell; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Stone, Bethanie Omiecinski, Emily Ferrell, Mary Ferrell, Hunter Aikens, Judson Aikens, Taryn Ward, Victoria Hayden, Dr. Samuel Belknap, Alexis Thompson and Aileen Phillips. He is also survived by (Papa).
