He was predeceased by: his father James Elder Carpenter, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Nancy McDaniel Carpenter; his children, Jamie Carpenter of Crossett, AR, Matthew Carpenter of Clinton and April Carpenter of New Orleans; and his siblings, Allen Travelstead of Terry, Joel Travelstead of Jackson, Linda Ray of Jackson and Ella Duncan of Clinton. He is also survived by nine nephews and three nieces; and seven grand-children.
