He was predeceased by: his parents, David Bartlett and Eunice Bartlett. He is survived by: his wife Diane; his children, Teri Lynn Lenard of Kingwood, TX, Donald Maurice Bartlett (Heather) of Hustle, VA, Justin Kuykendall (Shannon) of Flowood, MS and Darren Kuykendall (Aimee) of Hernando, MS.; his siblings, Terry Bartlett (Angela) of Elberta, AL, Montez Pelfrey of Sparks, NV, Jean Etheridge (Gerald) of Austell, GA, Dianne Marshall (Allen) of Mobile, AL and Elaine Knowles (Ralph) of Van Cleave, MS.; and his grandchildren, Daniel Lenard (Melody), David Lenard (Sydney), Breckyn Kuykendall and Cooper Kuykendall. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103 or the charity of your choice.

“While at the Copiah County Courthouse in 2005, I was joking with a young attorney about how she should show Don respect because of his age. Don overheard me tell her that his first service weapon in law enforcement had been a muzzle loader. DON QUIETLY LEFT ME THERE! I had to call him and strenuously apologize to get him to come pick me up. Don could be firm, but his actions were tempered by a heart of gold. The world lost a good man. Scott A. Johnson”
