It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ricky Bates Sr. (Byhalia, Mississippi), born in Memphis, Tennessee, who passed away on December 8, 2018, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Rogers Bates and Homer Edison Bates; and his brother Danny Parrish Bates. He is survived by: his wife Dee Anne Bates of Byhalia, MS; his children, Beth Bates Sheaffer (Micheal) of Lebanon, TN, Haley Anne Thompson (Matt) of Wyatte, MS, Mandee Pierotti of Senatobia, MS, Ricky Joe Bates, Jr. of Gladwin, MI, Jon David Bates (Lisa Marie) of Old Hickory, TN and Joe Tatum of Ft. Worth, TX; and his siblings, Debora Rhoades of Nesbit, MS, Mark Edison Bates of Bartlett, TN, Lowell Scott Bates of Collierville, TN and Jonathan Andrew Bates of Oakland, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
