With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mollie Faye Baker (Byhalia, Mississippi), who passed away on February 28, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Ollie Leopard and Roy Sides; her husbands, Leslie Baker Sr. and Fred Barnes; her son Leslie Baker Jr.; and her stepchildren, Herman, Leroy, Billy Joe Barnes and Hazel Hilton.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth, Leonard Baker and Carolyn Burnett (Junior) of Red Banks, MS; her stepchildren, Betty Jean Leopard (Travis) of Potts Camp, MS, Teresa Turner, Melissa Kimbrough (George) and Gary Barnes of Byhalia, MS; her sister Mary Tole of Covington, TN.; and her grandchildren, Michelle St (Odis) of Byhalia, MS, Tammy Baker of Byhalia, MS, Phillip Burnett (Denise) of Byhalia, MS, Tabitha Echols (Sonny) of Byhalia, MS, Michael Burnett (Savannah Doles) of Byhalia, MS, Sarah Covington (Jed) of Covington, TN and Stacey Nield of Covington, TN. She is also survived by Fourteen Step Grandchildren; Seven Great-Grandchildren; Nineteen Step Great Grandchildren; and Four Great, Great Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church (3993 Cayce Rd, Byhalia, MS 38611). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Forest Hill Cemetery South (2545 E Holmes Rd, Memphis, TN 38118).
