He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Rowland Smith and Gayle McCormick Smith; and his grandparents, Loyd Sr., Ola Williams Smith, Buford Shaw "Boots" and Mildred Irene Simpson McCormick.
He is survived by: his brothers, Randy Smith (Stacy) of Banner and Brent Smith (Leah) of North Pole; his stepsiblings, Shawn Shepherd of Bruce and Misty Goodson (Shane) of Bruce; and his stepmother June Box Smith of Bruce. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
In honor of Doug's memory, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
