He is survived by: his wife Vera Catherine Simpson Gaines; his daughters, Dr. Heather Hardison (Andy) of Collierville and Tiffany Gaines of Olive Branch, Mississippi; his sisters, Brenda Chandler (John) of Spring Hill, Sharon Raper of Coahoma and Teresa Webster (Roland) of Sidon, Mississippi; and his siblings-in-law, Lou McQuary (Larry) of West Union and John Simpson (Cathy) of Pascagoula, Mississippi. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
