He is survived by: his wife Diana Helton; his son Jerry Russell Helton, III of Tucson, AZ; his sister Melodye Getz-Rice; and his grandchildren, Julia McMeekan, Tyler McMeekan, Dennis McMeekan and Kenny Lee McCormick.
