He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Scott Oberschmidt and Anita Day Oberschmidt; his wife Dorothy Nell Sproles Oberschmidt; and his brother Roy Oberschmidt. He is survived by: his children, John S. Oberschmidt (Kathleen), Billy Oberschmidt (Sandy), Brenda O. Webber (Bo) and Dwayne Oberschmidt (Sarah); and his brother Mike Oberschmidt. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
