He is survived by: his children, Phillip Townsend (Yen), Daniel Townsend (Jennifer) and Shirley Brewer; and his sisters, Linda Rice and Van Pearl Ward. He is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
