It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Julia Evelyn Oubre Simmons of Brookhaven, Mississippi, who passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Oubre and Holland Oubre; her husband Henry Gene Simmons, Sr.; and her daughter Cynthia Simmons Forrester. She is survived by: her children, Henry Gene Simmons, Jr. (Cris), Timothy Jack Simmons (Irene) and Angie Simmons McCardle (John); her grandchildren, Chad Simmons (Tammy), Blaine Hamilton (Casey), Emily Edmonds (Brian), Blake Simmons (Erica), Marci Watters (John), Michaelanne Barton (Brett) and John Rhodes Farham (Jenny); her daughter Cindy Bowman Townsend; and her caregiver Cat (Mama Cat). She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
