He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Felix Upton and Maxine Elizabeth Crawford; and his son Joel Phillip "J. P." Upton, Jr.. He is survived by: his son Justin Levi Upton; his siblings, Mark Barrack Upton, Deborah Barfoot (Ricky), Phyllis Hill and Cassiea Crawford; and his grandchildren, Kara Faith Upton, Gavin Lee Upton, Trajan Alexander Upton, Olivia Michelle Upton and Anastyn Kate Upton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Riverwood Family (76 US-51, Brookhaven, MS 39601). A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
