It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Perkins (Brookhaven, Mississippi), who passed away on February 17, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Perkins to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bent and Julia Herring Perkins; and his siblings, Sally Perkins Pidgeon Brown and John Perkins. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Patti" Perkins; his children, Holly Perkins Slay (Timothy Slay) of Brookhaven, Jeffrey Michael Perkins (Sarah) of Brandon, MS and Randolph Perkins of New Orleans, LA; his grandchildren, Ellie and Abby Slay of Brookhaven; his godson Patrick Pidgeon of Los Angeles, CA.; and his caregivers, Bridget, Loretta Prather, Bridgett Crossley and Loretta Merritt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the King's Daughter Medical Center Foundation and the Brookhaven Military Memorial Museum.

“Patty, I saw in the RUPA magazine about Jimmy's passing. Our condolences to you and your family. Janine and I live in Helena, Montana, where Janine was from. Sold the house in San Carlos in 2003 and moved here. I retired in 1995 based in Honolulu. Take care, Duke & Janine Miller”
